Hobbits are humble yet sociable little people, smaller than dwarves, not much larger than Lilliputians. They dwell in warm, comfortable habitats and live close to the earth and everyday things, love peace and quiet, and almost never leave to travel. Hobbits are inclined to be fat, like to laugh and eat (six meals a day!) and drink. They are fond of parties, fireworks, flowers, bright colors, and like to give and receive presents. They inhabit a land they call The Shire, a place between the River Brandywine and the Far Downs.

A new journey begins...
In 1972, we started on the road making fare that honored Tolkien's hobbit tradition. For the first 10 years Hobbit Cafe was open, our menu was vegetarian. Today's menu is made of small-batch, fresh dishes including stacked burgers; huge, hobbit-sized sandwiches; nachos; seafood, like shrimp and fish; and a variety of stellar breakfast and brunch options.
Our large wooden deck our our giant oak tree is one of the best places in Houston to enjoy a brew. We pride ourselves on our ever-changing list of Hobbit-approved beers and wines, and you're guaranteed to find something you'll love.

Some of our guests over the years have included Mama Cass (formerly with The Mamas & The Papas), Peter Max, Neil Young, Governor Connally, Jack Nicholson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Depeche Mode. We've even celebrated a birthday with Woody Harrelson.

Blackened Fish Fillet topped with shredded Red Cabbage and our own Chipotle Dressing. Served with Mango Pico, Hobbit Salsa, and a side of Beans and Rice.
Smoked turkey topped with avocado, tomato, and melted jack cheese. Served on whole wheat with your choice of shredded carrots, ruffles, black beans, or brown rice.
One half-pound Angus burger topped with one quarter-pound smoked jalapeño pork boudin, mango pico de gallo, spring mix, Creole mustard, chipotle Caesar dressing and Sriracha sauce.
Portobello Mushroom Fajitas
Sizzling portobello mushroom fajitas served with black beans, rice, fire roasted peppers, shredded cheese, grilled onions, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
Avocado, fresh tabouli, tomato, alfalfa sprouts with mayo. Served on whole wheat with your choice of shredded carrots, Ruffles, black beans or brown rice.
Three eggs scrambled with fried tortilla strips and roasted pepper salsa. Topped with soft Mexican cheese. Served with brunch potatoes. Saturday and Sunday only (10:30-3 PM).
Three egg omelette with feta cheese, sautéed tomatoes and onions, fresh basil and Greek olives. Served with breakfast potatoes and toast. Saturday and Sunday only (10:30-3 PM).
Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich
Grilled fillet of Mahi Mahi, served on a Honey Wheat Bun with fresh Baby Greens, Tomato, Red Onion and our Dill Tartar Sauce. Served with kettle potato chips.
Cajun Seasoned and Blackened Tilapia Fillet, topped with our Cilantro Lime Cream Sauce. Served with Brown Rice and Steamed Veggies.
Chicken Enchiladas Verdes
Chicken breast meat in a corn tortilla and topped with our chipotle verde sauce and cheese. Served with black beans, brown rice, and pico de gallo.
Cream cheese, shrimp, and chives rolled in a spring roll and lightly fried. Served with a side of sweet pepper Thai sauce.
